I went on a short trip to Moonta Bay with my boyfriend between Christmas and New Years and in a word it was.. lovely. It was simultaneously relaxing and exciting to just get away for a bit from routine and see some new things. When I came back I swear my skin has never been clearer and it was the perfect refresh for the new year, despite it having slightly disrupted my sleeping schedule. I was only away for 3 ish days but it was enough.

Of course I brought my camera because who would I be if I didn’t, but I definitely tried to still have some without-camera moments because it’s easy to get caught up in it all. And also carrying a camera around 24/7 can just get plain annoying.

I thought this was the perfect opportunity to try out some of my more professional grade film that I’d been saving for a special occasion. I took with me a roll of Kodak Portra 400 and Portra 160. I accidentally shot the Portra 400 on a 200 ASA setting, so I was actually concerned about how the pictures would turn out but I’m super happy that there is absolutely nothing wrong with them and they look wonderful. They are definitely both beautiful films and I can understand the hype.

Anyway, I got some shots I’m really proud of so I thought I’d document them here. These are my favourites, mostly in the order I took them 🙂
