I bought a new camera recently, which was quite an investment and experience for me as it is the first camera I have bought myself, other cameras I have owned have been ‘permanently borrowed’, as I like to put it, or handed down. I purchased the Canon EOS M50, an entry-level mirrorless camera, which is all I need since photography is merely a hobby for me, and I wanted to try out the mirrorless technology rather than a DSLR, just as something new. So far, I absolutely love it. However, I’ve found that the viewfinder is a bit blurry, since it is digital, so I have had to resort to using the screen, which has actually turned out way better for me as there are many more possibilities for ways to hold and use the camera, as I don’t need to contort myself into un-humanly positions in order to compose the shot I want while still remaining essentially attached to the camera. Long story short, it took a bit of getting used to but now that I am mostly used to it, it’s wonderful. This is also the first camera I’ve owned and used that has updated wifi and bluetooth technology, so being able to link it to my phone is also awesome.
Anyway, without further ado, I went on a couple of adventures to try out the camera and take some pictures and here are my favourites 🙂
Firstly, a gallery from down by the river, I tried to capture the way this plant was wrapping around anything and everything in it’s path, a truly beautiful feat of nature.

Secondly, a gallery of black and white images from the botanic gardens. I thought these particular pictures were most successful in black and white as they focus more on patterns and textures than one particular subject.
Finally, a gallery of colour images from the botanic gardens. I am especially proud of the bee photos and the amount of detail I have never been able to achieve before. However, I think that is mostly down to my now increased knowledge of how to properly use all the functions of a camera haha.

it seems strange the view finder is blurry. it shouldnt be. there maybe an adjustment. you do have some nice photos in this post. keep clicking away

Thank you! I had thought there would be an adjustment as well, but I haven’t found it yet. I am endeavouring to find out though.
