escapril day 29: monochrome
my cheeks flush easily,
outsides matching my insides,
brimming with feelings of
pink – blissfully enchanted,
rosy and love-filled,
blood rushing to tint cheeks
with a blush – warm,
and skin – soft, like cotton
candy sunset clouds, as I
dream of pink lips to kiss
while pink hearts beat
and pink brains think
and pink tongues speak
and taste the pink sweet
of watermelon in the sun,
but I don’t have to dream
anymore – you are here now,
holding my hands in yours
keeping them warm,
and pink.
